OOTG updated privacy policy protecting you
At Out of the Gutter, we’re committed to protecting your privacy and controls. It would be best if you felt confident in receiving communications referencing property cleaning and maintenance services and solutions from us, and we will continue to offer them. To reflect the new standards established by the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we’ve made updates and improvements to our marketing, social media, and administration storage and secured encrypted Xero account systems.

In support of these data protection rules across Europe, we’ve updated the OOTG Privacy Policy to meet requirements. These changes will be effective from 25 May 2018.
Updates are required each year. Here’s a summary of what’s new:
Your Rights
As an individual, you have control over what information you hold, how it is used and whether you are happy for us to keep it. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) states that you have:
- The right to be informed – to know what information we collect about you and why.
This Privacy Policy is written in response to this
- The right of access – to see what information we hold and verify the lawfulness of processing your data.
- The right to rectification – to rectify the information we hold if it is incomplete or inaccurate.
- The right to erasure – to have your information removed.
- The right to restrict processing – to change how we use your data.
- The right to data portability – allows us to move, copy or transfer data quickly from one IT environment to another safely and securely, without affecting its usability.
- The right not to be – subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.
How we use data
Data records of past, current, and [future] OOTG information you provided are stored for customer care and follow-up support only, and for further requirements you request.
- Address, contact, tel. /s, mob. /s, email. /s, social media details or specific given data for property location/s (Google map), OOTG photography and survey measurements are stored, firewall-protected, and remain isolated on OOTG password-secured admin systems. They are only accessible by authorised staff.

- Use of all OOTG 2008-2025> copyrighted photography on outofthegutter.co.uk Instagram or Facebook social media will remain secure, and your ID and data remain protected by this policy. All copyright rights are reserved.
- We use Mailchimp to inform and remind subscribed customers with informative emails. Valued and appreciated customers may be offered marketing promotion products to be cost-effective solutions to consider. You always have the option to unsubscribe, your data remains protected and secured, and password security applies to all OOTG stored information.

Out of the Gutter, continued customer contact is essential. We have sought the advice of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) regarding OOTG’s privacy policy and data storage security. We are now compliant with GDPR and maintain your data by being both clients requested, introduced, recommended, and as part of already stored data, past, current and future; all details will remain under GDPR and this Privacy policy. Our platform is designed so that you’re only sharing information required to complete your enquiry and requirement and to assist us in meeting a need. We never sell data or share it with unnecessary third parties.
